Historic Ybor City hosts Christmas tree lighting celebration this week

by Andrew Harlan

Ybor City is getting ready to light up for the holidays! The 14th annual Ybor City Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on November 20 at 1600 E. 7th Ave., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This beloved event officially kicks off the festive season in one of Tampa’s most historic districts, set against the backdrop of Ybor’s newly bricked streets for extra holiday charm.

Excitement builds as the event approaches, with Mayor Jane Castor leading the crowd in a lively countdown to flip the switch and illuminate the Christmas tree. Once the tree is aglow, Ybor City transforms into a winter wonderland, with occasional appearances of fake snow adding an extra touch of magic to the evening.

Stay updated on event details by following the Ybor City Chamber’s Facebook page. Don’t miss this perfect kickoff to the holiday season!
